Kara walker and Kehinde Wiley work ( unit 5 protest )

this silhouette is for black lives matter I based it on the protest in 2020 I did a silhouette of a face with a mask on and for the patter background I wrote the words BLACK LIVES MATTER because in America they had painted this mural the road near the white house
this is a silhouette of Martin Luther King. I added the blue background and the crowns for my pattern work. I somewhat made him a logo with his initials in the crown
This is work from my unit 5 protest project. This work is inspired by artist Kara Walker and Kehinde Wiley. I did work previously inspired by Kara Walker I had made silhouettes for different protest and now i have combined the work of two artist that I have researched.
this is my suffragettes silhouette that I mad. I initially made it with just a sash then I added the hexagon background the the colours of the suffragette flag
i also thought it would be a good ides to invert my pattern to the inside
this is the feminist logo. I did a bit of typography in the cross and fist and in the circle I added mini logos. I used the colour pink because it is stereotypically for women.
this is a environmentalist logo i added a simple background of different colour and shape leaves
this is a piece dedicated to the LGBTQ community. my original silhouette was just a black flag then i added the colours of the LGBTQ+ onto the flag. all the colours including the heart are from the latest official LGBTQ+ flag
